Privacy and cybersecurity talent is tough to find. A day hardly goes by without an article or newscast lamenting the cybersecurity talent shortages. But with VPP,  you can get top  talent that you might not otherwise be able to access, on a budget you can afford.
Since you’re not hiring someone full time, expenses are much lower. In addition to the savings on wages, you don’t have to pay for employee benefits. With the money you save, you can invest more into technological solutions or employee training.
VPPs also provide immediate time-to-value. They are experienced and can hit the ground running. No time is lost due to onboarding or training. If you hire a VPP on Tuesday, they are often ready to provide value the same day. No long quarter of “getting familiar” with the challenges or how to correct the issues.
It’s important to make sure you only hire trustworthy, reputable VPPs. Look for someone with a public LinkedIn page who has many followers and postings. Better, they should be known in the community and have been published in cybersecurity and privacy magazines and online publications. That way, you know you’re getting the real deal, not a person that just “wants to learn” to be a CPO. 
VPPs can be procured by day – you can hire a VPP for 1 day each week, for example – or for a certain number of hours each week. VPPs typically work remotely, but schedule time on-site at least quarterly, or more often, as your budget and needs require.
